20 But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. (Philippians 3:20 NLT)

Do you know the difference between a nomad and a pilgrim?

A nomad does not have a permanent location; he or she travels from place to place, finding pasture here and there for their livestock. A pilgrim is a person searching for a sacred place to call home.

For us as believers, living on Earth, which person would we be? I know for me, it is work continuously shifting my mindset from thinking of this place like home and remembering heaven is our home. The Christian life is a journey; It is a marathon; it is a voyage to where we pass through the gates of death to be with the person we love.

Nomad’s Log is not about my perfect, holy journey to being with God. It is the bare bones what I face in my daily life being a teacher, a high school educator, an amateur writer, a depressed, single broke twenty-something black woman still living at home with her parents. Throughout the Nomad Log, you will read my fluctuating emotions, my impulsive and often defensive reactions, and my grumbling spirit.

Why? Nomad’s Log is important to me it is because it is me. The good, the bad, and all of the ugly. Nomad’s Log is important to me because writing is important to me. Words are important to me. As heavy as my depression I got, it was the Word of God, it was my ability to put words to my emotions that had me cope and propel out of the darkness.

I do not know if my posts will be inspiring or if my future will be successful, but I do know…
