I hate the jitteriness of anxiety. The crippling unknowns you feel as life’s situations hits you so many different ways. If its not a parent, then it’s a student, or creating an assignment. Read how I handle the effects of unknowns at work, and how the Lord God affirms us, as believers.
Lately, the responsibilities of my life have been doubling up and it seems like I cannot get a moment to breathe. However, the way I respond is entirely different, no longer am’I running from my fears and coping with negative practices.
Worry and anxiety can be consuming. Going through life, seeing your enemies or friends experience blessings can become discouraging. I know we all know God “cares” for us, but do we believe the Lord God in heaven will and can meet our needs? I am here to remind you: Yes He can and Yes He will.
Do you sometimes think peace is imaginary? Christians talk about it and Jesus said His peace is real and evident. But where is it? Life’s struggles will never disappear, but if you can find a a moment in the overwhelmingness of life then you could breathe. Unemployment, job evaluations, divorce, break ups, destructive arguments between long time friends and family there are so many circumstances where we request from heaven the peace Jesus promised us here on Earth. Yet our hearts remain empty and our spirits shaking. Do you think, maybe asking for peace is not the issue we’re having. The Lord Jesus will not give us peace in a situation, if we’re not determined to keep our minds focused on Him.
Life is scary. The dark unknown or the uncertainty of the future is the exact reason why, people have coping mechanisms. Drinking, overeating, sex, drugs, and other sinful activities are ways we seek to calm our hearts and minds. But what if I told you we don’t no longer need to cope, for Jesus is our security?
I remember when I was in college and now I look back thanking God to how He shaped. I am also looking back, seeing all the mistakes I made and how they could have easily been avoided. College was experience I’d never regret. From stress to peer pressure to worry and anxiety, I’ve learned how to handle the craziness in this wonderful, but chaotic experience. There is more to life than believing in God and accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. One of the greatest obstacles to progressing spiritually is to put aside our doubts, confront our past wounds, and discuss the real issue: Why can we not bring ourselves to trust God? God never works through unbelief, so what is it in our hearts, from taking this leap of faith.
