It is so easy to fall in love with someone who we think we need in our lives. Sadly, so many of us fall in love with the wrong person. We think the man or woman we are in love with is the one. Yet little do we know that this person is an imitaiton, and we’re settling for counterfeit love, not the true love God has planned for us.
I remember when I was in college and now I look back thanking God to how He shaped. I am also looking back, seeing all the mistakes I made and how they could have easily been avoided. One of the greatest obstacles to progressing spiritually is to put aside our doubts, confront our past wounds, and discuss the real issue: Why can we not bring ourselves to trust God? God never works through unbelief, so what is it in our hearts, from taking this leap of faith.
Sometimes, asking God for forgiveness of our sins is not enough. It hurts so much, when we confess our sins and we do not feel the forgiveness. However, is it conviction of the Holy Spirit we’re experiencing or condemnation from the devil? As Christians, once we confess and repent, then God’s forgiveness is permanent. Absorb the principle.
